Oisín Walsh-Peelo is a session musician, singer, conductor and composer from Co. Wicklow. He has toured extensively since completing his BMusComp in 2016 (First Class Honours & High Achievement Award). As a session musician (piano, guitars, harp, low-whistles and
vocalist) he has played throughout the USA, Europe, Ireland and the UK. Notable artists he performs with include: Hudson Taylor, Gabrielle Aplin, Hannah-Grace, Villagers, Sorcha Richardson, Amber Run, SASO and Sibéal. He supported Hozier with his own project O Deer in 2018 in the Roseland Theatre in Portland, Oregon.
Oisín studied choral conducting under David Brophy and Bernie Sherlock in DIT Conservatory of Music, Rathmines. He has led and overseen choral/orchestral & ensemble recording sessions in Windmill Lane and Camden Recording Studios. As a choral singer himself, Oisín was the Irish representative at the international choir academy Choracademie Lübeck in 2016. During this period he was also directing and conducting the Microsoft and ICON choirs in Dublin. Since then, Oisín has sung with New Dublin Voices, Anúna, DIT Chamber Choir and as soloist with the Dún Laoighre Choral Society under David Brophy. He was also a member of RTÉ Concert Orchestra Chorus. Oisín sang Bass with KODA Barbershop Quartet winning the ensemble competition in the Feis Ceoil.
In 2021 Oisín was part of the House Band for South Wind Blows production The Heart of Saturday Night. For the TV show he wrote arrangements for The Crash Ensemble and accompanied such artsts as John Sheehan and Mary Black. Oisín’s current collaborative
projects include an EP of ambient-folk with his brother and actor Ferdia Walsh-Peelo (Sing Street) and a series of spoken word/sound-design pieces with writer/painter Alan Robinson.
Now based in West Cork, Oisín continues to pursue his love of music, singing and performance. He is delighted with his new position... as are we :)
